A superb looking project of Doorsan’s was in St. Helier in the Channel Islands. A boutique hotel, it included self-catering loft apartments and overlooked the bustling harbour of North Quay. The hotel's owner contacted Doorsan with a specific request for light coloured doors and they additionally needed to have a natural driftwood appearance and reflect the surroundings of the hotel itself.
The fire doors, therefore, for this project were a mix of two designs. Sancerre grooved were used along-side Ellington RAL9010 Pure White and finished with rustic silver pewter handles. This is actually one of Doorsan’s earlier projects featuring a white oil that has since been replaced with the new “Washed Oak”. It’s a beautiful finish that gives a high level of consistency and pairs well with a neutral interior. These boutique hotel doors also work well amongst the whimsical sea life paintings. Then there’s also the reclaimed driftwood wainscoting and exposed roof beams that go hand in hand with the doors in washed oak.
