The Metropolitan is a development of 52 apartments located in Poole, Dorset. The brief was to reimagine a 1930’s listed building, formally known as the Old Police Station. The authentic heritage and architecture of the building were used to create 1 and 2-bed contemporary apartments and Doorsan’s Arista internal doors, finished in RAL 9003 signal white were chosen for throughout the interiors. Standout attributes of this project include the on-trend modern industrial decor. Patterned textiles also feature with copper-coloured accents and Doorsan’s bright white grooved doors as opposed to the more traditional pure white.
It’s certainly a unique development in which some of the modern white grooved doors were supplied very wide to fit the original large openings of the rooms. This gives a distinguishing edge to the overall scheme of this impressive 20th-century revamp.
