At Doorsan we are focused on selling quality wooden doors to the public, business proprietors, property developers and builders. However, our interest in doors spreads beyond simply the doors, as we are interested in everything related to doors, as you will know if you have read previous Blog posts. This post relates to an idea for creating space in your home and a useful storage solution for anyone that craves a bit of extra room for bits and bobs.
I was recently visiting a friend, who like me, has young children. We were chatting over a cup of tea when she told me that she had created her own over the door storage gadget. She had placed it on the back of her kitchen door and I was really impressed when I took a look. Essentially it was a long thin piece of material to which she had sewn pockets and attached the whole thing to the back of her door. Each pocket was filled with different craft items such as stickers, glitter, glue, scissors and sheets of card. I thought it was a brilliant idea and a great way to make use of an area that is rarely seen - the back of a door.
I have a great big box of arty things, which I add to whenever I stumble across something useful or pretty, however it can be difficult to find what I am looking for and is a real pain to have to get everything out when my little girl wants to create a picture. My friend's solution meant that everything was easy to find and had its own appropriately sized compartment. Also, the fact that it was fitted to the door meant it did not take up unnecessary space. Obviously this idea is not limited to arts and crafts materials as it could be applied to many things such as cosmetics and toiletries on the bathroom door or for storing tools or toys.
