In May 2013 I posted a Blog focussing on the latest colour trends and styling for Internal Timber Doors. The door industry has introduced veneer finishes in the 'On Trend' grey shades. As is so often the case a colour trend is usually fed into a immense range of products and door hardware is no exception. Of course stainless steel is by nature grey and comes in polished or satin finishes. However, following the new colour trend, other finishes within the same palette have recently become available. The use of Nickel finishes is not unusual in Hardware and has had previous popularity in more traditionally styled door accessories. The new Polished Black Nickel finish now being used is similar in appearance yet takes on a contemporary look due to the modern styling of the handles and accessories such as escutcheons and thumb turn locks. A particularly attractive door handle is the Eclipse with a curved lever on a round sprung rose. The same lever, called the Shadow, is available with a square rose option. If you require a long back plate on a handle in a black Nickel finish then the style called Midnight is very streamlined and will suit a great many internal door designs.
These Polished Black Nickel door handles will compliment the new internal, grey door finishes but will look equally stunning on many other contemporary and some classic doors.
