As I've mentioned in previous Blogs, I'm very interested in property renovation programmes on TV, this curiosity stems from my training as an Interior Designer and fuelled with the door supply business. I'm very pleased to see Channel 4's Location Location Location back on for a new series, the first episode has started with London properties, which seem to have weathered the property downturn well, yet there are now very positive signs of improvement in other areas of the country. I have really enjoyed Restoration Home on BBC 2 which explores the reality of embarking upon the major renovation projects of historic buildings. In addition Sarah Beeny's new Channel 4's series Double your House for Half the Money has also begun, incidentally we supplied doors for a house in the previous series of this programme.

All this Home buying and restoration activity is great for Doorsan Ltd as we really enjoy people contacting us and discussing there property plans. However, we would advise customers to contact us at early stage of the planning as sometimes they leave it too near the end of the project to discuss the purchasing of doors. We would recommend to anyone embarking on restoration or any form of building project to look at our website to check out the sizes of doors available in the styles they are considering as not all designs are available in all sizes or finishes. If clients are involved in a restoration scheme where a bespoke timber door will be required in a particular size or design, then manufacturing time needs to be factored in to the schedule. So often customers find our doors to be ideal for there project but contact us late which can cause delays in the supply chain. It is really unfortunate to see a super interior scheme fitted with unsuitable doors due to a last minute decision or lack of budget planning at an earlier stage.
Our advice is to look at our website early at the design stage, give us a ring to discuss your ideas which allows our sales team to give you a realistic quotation and time schedule for your choice of timber doors. We are here to help, there's no harm in asking and you could prevent frustration later on.
