Doorsan is a door company based in Wyke in West Yorkshire, which is named after the owner David Kershaw. As well as a keen interest in doors, our owner would rate music as his favourite hobby and he is a skilled guitar player himself. This blog is inspired by the company name and is about another Kershaw who is known for his musical talent.
Nik Kershaw is mostly remembered from his 80's pop/rock music career. Born in 1958, Nicholas David Kershaw taught himself the guitar as he was growing up. In 1984 he released his first major success "Wouldn't It Be Good", which remains one of his most famous titles and this song is frequently included within the music compilations from the 80's. He joined a number of famous faces to perform in Live Aid in 1985 and is well regarded amongst many musicians having collaborated with various others including Elton John and Gary Barlow.
Nik Kershaw is also a successful songwriter with a number of well known hits including "The Woman I Love released by the Hollies in 1993 and number one hit "The One and Only" released by Chesney Hawkes in 1991. We have not seen a lot of Nik Kershaw in recent years however he released an album called "Then and Now" in 2005, which included a range of previous hits as well as some new material.
