It has been a long winter and we have endured some very cold weather, but it finally feels like there is some chance of some warmer weather around the corner. Normally the beginning of Spring and Easter would be the time to look forward to the new season's trends but this year we are somewhat behind.
So what's the forecast for interior trends for summer 2013? I have had a look around and it seems that bold colours are going to be popular this summer. I wonder if this is a reaction to the dark miserable prolonged winter - our desperation to surround ourselves with bright colours.

Warm reds and oranges are certainly amongst the colours that we will be seeing in the shops this summer. Yellow was strong last year and there may still be some yellows around but this will be in combination with other colours and more subtle tones compared with the bright shades we saw last year.
In terms of themes, there will be an element of craft and homemade designs so lots of wooden and stone objects that appear to be one-off items. This reflects a move away from mass produced items. The distressed look will continue to be popular which will influence both furniture and accessories. Vintage items remain popular and there will be an emergence of nautical themed decorative objects. Light grey shades combined with dusty pinks and subtle powder blue hues will be prevalent to complement the craft style design theme.
