Following a recent holiday travelling around Spain I have been inspired by the beauty and splendour of the Mediterranean doors I have seen. Within our collection we have some doors with Spanish place names so this is the inspiration for this blog post.
Barcelona Doors
Barcelona features some of the most amazing architecture and is a wonderful city for taking in the sites. Where possible I tried to walk about from place to place to make the most of the architecture throughout the city and of course I took a special interest in the doors. Amazingly I managed to find the most appropriate restaurant which name translates to “7 Doors” – very nice authentic Spanish dining!
See the photo on the right for an internal door within our collection that is called the Barcelona. This is a prefinished beech door featuring 6 glazed panels. The lower panel of the door features a quarter match design (a traditional way of jointing veneers). Also available in Prefinished Oak and Prefinished Walnut.
Madrid Doors
Madrid is a modern city with some interesting museums and attractive architecture.
The Royal Palace is an extravagant building and the Almudena cathedral next door features an amazingly intricate design of door with religious scenes depicted in brass on the door.

This internal door would complement the Barcelona model featured above and is also available in pre-finished oak (as shown), as well as prefinished beech and prefinished walnut.
Like the Barcelona, the Madrid internal door features the quarter matched design veneers to the top and lower panels. The photo here does not do justice to this stylish design feature.
Granada Doors
Granada is a very beautiful city and the highlight is the castle of Alhambra. The Alhambra is a World Heritage Site and it is one of Spain’s most popular tourist sites. From the Alhambra palace city you can see some stunning views including the Sierra Nevada mountains and the stunning city of Granada. Walking around the city there are many elaborate doors, many large heavy duty wooden doors and lots of elaborate styling on and around the door.

This external door is a classic style with two elaborate tri-glazed glass panels. These vertical panels are large to provide significant light into your property. There is also a complementary Granada sidelight available which allows you to create a grand entrance with either one or two sidelights framing the door.
