Over the years, since 1999, Doorsan Ltd have supplied hundreds of Exterior Stable Doors to our lovely customers. A stable door is generally fitted to the back door or kitchen door but I have also seen them fitted to the front of a property. A stable door can be an exceedingly convenient choice, particularly where pets and young children are concerned; you can open the top section for ventilation and communication with others outside while still providing safety.
Stable doors are generally chosen for rural cottage style properties due to the connection with horses, farming and the outdoor way of living. However, many of our customers own traditional properties in suburban areas and choose a stable door for their kitchen or backdoor as they have young children and/or pets to keep safe particularly if they are near roads.
Doorsan have always considered the Stable, split style, door to be very functional but due to the traditional styling we have not been able to supply this useful product to owners of more contemporary style homes. Also, over the last 30 years or so, many modern Grand Design Properties have been built in rural areas and we consider that the owners would benefit from this type of exterior door.
Therefore, we have produced the perfect answer for customers with contemporary properties. As part of our new range of high quality, Oak Exterior Doors we have introduced the contemporary Breckenridge range, which includes a solid panel door a glazed version and a part glazed Stable so you can now have a front and back door with different functions which will suit a contemporary home. In addition the Farmhouse range of Oak exterior doors have a style suitable for both traditional and some modern properties and again there is a solid panel V4 and V4 half glazed door and Stable doors V3 and V4 with clear glass.
The hardware accessories needed for a stable door are specific so remember than in addition to the usual handles and locks you'll need four hinges (two for each part of the door), bolts and an additional deadlock. You will be able to choose your own door handle styles to suit either the modern or traditional door design. Stable doors require the addition of a weather bar for the split top section along with the bottom of the door, as the top section needs to be treated as a door in its own right. The locking system also needs to be doubled up for security with the addition of bolts to fix the two sections together to allow the door to function as a single door.
